This floral sachet would have been used in a clothes drawer or cupboard to keep it smelling fresh.

The sachets contained fragranced powder or dried herbs and flowers. At the start of the 20th century scientists developed new synthetic fragrances allowing people to enjoy the smell of jasmine, rose and hyacinth in their home.
