Our award-winning Schools programme is completely free and open to all.

Choose from our selection of hands-on, interactive, curriculum-linked workshops for your visit to the Archive. Most workshops are two hours long and take place at the Archive in Leeds during term time.

Group Size

We can accommodate up to 36 pupils plus accompanying adults at any one time.

Access and SEND

There is level access throughout the Archive and we have an accessible toilet. If you’re planning a visit with pupils with SEND we’ll work with you to make sure everyone has the best possible experience, just get in touch.

Pre-workshop Visits

We’re always very happy to arrange pre-visits to the Archive for teachers that have already booked workshops. Pre-visits are an opportunity for you to look around, see the facilities and chat to us about the details of your visit and any particular requirements you may have.

Coach and Car Parking

Let us know if your coach needs to park up during your visit. There are two Blue Badge car parking spaces outside the Archive, but no other car parking is available on site. For more information about nearby car parking please click the red button.

Facilities

Workshops take place in the exhibition and our Learning Room, which can also be used for eating packed lunches before or after workshops. We have toilets adjacent to the Learning Room, including accessible facilities.

Safeguarding and Risk Assessment

FAQs for home educating groups

Group size

We can accommodate up to 20 learners plus accompanying adults at one time, the minimum number for a workshop booking is 16 learners.

If you’re a smaller group you can visit under your own steam, we have a free self-guided visit pack full of activities to do in the exhibition. Self-guided visits must be booked in advance, just get in touch to find out more.
