Fun, free and for everyone!

Join us on the second Saturday of each month, it’s free to visit and there’s no need to book.

As well as our interactive exhibition, which includes dressing up rails, a Penny Bazaar shop and mini-cinema, you can have a go at a hands-on activity and try our exhibition trails – there’s something for everyone!

Activities run from 10am to 4pm. We’ve got free fruit, biscuits and drinks, including vegan and gluten-free options and you can use our indoor picnic space to eat your own food.

14 June: Summer Styling

The new M&S summer campaign has dropped, and now it’s your turn to make some movie magic. Bring out your inner fashionista (stylist, model and director) to create a brilliant summer advert.

12 July: Colour!

Mix to match! Explore the science of colour in the Archive – can you mix a colour to exactly match our archive shades? Invent and name your own colours and have a go at our colour challenges.

9 August: Build a Bag

We’ve got bags of bags of all shapes and sizes in our archive collection. You’ll be able to have a closer look at some of our bags, can you work out how they’ve been made? Ponder why the designer chose those fastenings or features… then get stuck in and create your own bag to take home.

13 September: An M&S Mystery…

The filling has disappeared from our custard creams! Join the M&S Archive detective agency and help solve the mystery. Create your own code breaker and use it to decipher the clues hidden around the Archive. 

11 October: Packaging

Our packaging has to work really hard. It protects and preserves our products, as well as looking good too! Find out more about packaging and test your own design – will it be strong enough for the stress tests?

8 November: Christmas Family Crafternoon

Join our brilliant crafters who will each be sharing a festive craft activity – come and make some fantastic creations to take home.
