We’re excited to share that we’ve recently digitised our holdings of M&S Annual Reports and they are now available to explore online.

They span from this year’s Annual Report all the way back to 1926 when M&S became a public limited company (and was therefore required to produce Annual Reports). Our Annual Reports offer a fascinating look into the M&S story – from key milestones and financial highlights to the people and priorities that shaped our business over the decades. Whether you’re looking at business history, tracking trends in the retail sector, or just curious about how things used to be done, these reports are a worth a look. The Annual Reports become progressively more detailed over time with the earliest reports simply presenting key financial data, and then from the mid-1960s onwards also including commentary on strategy and progress.

This digitisation project is part of our ongoing work to widen access to the Archive and make it easier than ever to discover the original sources that help tell our story.
